Overview
For your first login, the Admin user account is the only pre-defined account in the TopTeam system. Use ‘admin’ as both the Username and Password to log into the system.
TopTeam supports two methods to login. These are as below:
- On-premise
- Cloud
The On-Premise and Cloud setup both provides sandbox and primary workspace.
You can also use Sandbox mode to browse sample data for which usernames and passwords are automatically supplied by the Login screen.
This article describes the procedure for logging into TopTeam for the very first time using TopTeam Desktop App.

Prerequisites
- To work on On-Premise, it is mandatory to have the required compatible setup. This includes TopTeam Application Server, required database, and TopTeam executable file (alternatively, install the TopTeam Desktop App using TopTeam App Launcher).
- You need On-Premise license to work on this. On running TopTeam executable file, you need to switch to On-Premise option to avail this facility.
- To work on TopTeam Cloud, you will just require the cloud setup which is provided by TechnoSolutions. To use this, you need to switch to Cloud option.
- Ensure that you have login credentials for logging into TopTeam. Username and password are required if you are logging using TopTeam Authentication. For more information on creating User Accounts, refer to the article Creating User Accounts with TopTeam Desktop App.
Step 1. Start TopTeam Desktop App by double-clicking the TopTeam icon on Windows desktop (if you have used the TopTeam installer)
Or, start TopTeam Desktop App using the executable file from the installation folder

1. Logging into TopTeam Desktop App
1.1. Switching to Sandbox Workspace
Sandbox Workspace provides a sample project using which you can evaluate various features of TopTeam before using them on Primary Workspace. It helps you understand how this application works.
Sandbox Workspace offers a predefined list of users. Each user represents a role played by members in a project lifecycle.
Select a persona and you will be logged into TopTeam as that persona.
1.2. Switching to Primary Workspace
Primary Workspace is your live project(s) data of which you are a team member.
There are three authentication types to log into your Primary Workspace:
- TopTeam Authentication
- Windows Authentication
- External Authentication
Select an authentication type and enter credentials to log in.
1.3. Selecting a Connection Profile
Creating a connection profile is the initial step for logging in.
A Connection Profile consists of a set of connection properties such as server computer address, port number, etc. that are required by TopTeam Desktop App to connect to the application server.
NOTE: Please contact IT Support for the information about TopTeam Application Server such as port number, etc. to create a connection profile.
You can use the connection profile created by IT Support while installation.
You can also create a new connection profile, if NOT available. Refer to the article Defining TopTeam Desktop App Connection Profile for accessing TopTeam repository using TCP/IP Protocol.
You can edit and delete connection profiles.
You can also import/export connection profiles.
1.4. Logging in using TopTeam Authentication
TopTeam Authentication requires TopTeam Username and Password to log in.
NOTE: If you are TopTeam Administrator and logging in for the first time, use ‘admin‘ as both the Username and Password to log into the system.
TopTeam Desktop App displays Home page after successful login
You can now start working on your TopTeam Desktop App.

If you are logging in using “admin” as both Username and Password, it is recommended that you change your Password after login

1.5. Logging in using Windows Authentication
TopTeam supports LDAP Authentication that enables you to authenticate with your Windows User Account.
Select Windows Authentication and log into TopTeam.
For Windows Authentication, you need to configure certain settings. For more information, refer to the article How to log into TopTeam Desktop App using Integrated Windows Authentication (SSO)
1.6. Logging in using External Authentication
TopTeam supports External Authentication that enables you to authenticate with an External Authentication provider such as AD FS using SAML.
Select Login Method as External Authentication and click Login that will help you authenticate into TopTeam.
NOTE: External Authentication is allowed only with Web (HTTP/HTTPS) connection type.

Ensure to add TopTeam Cloud URL to login.
