Creating traceability links between records of OneView Documents using drag-and-drop method in Traceability Derivation OneView

Sometimes you may want to create traceability link from one or more requirements in a source document to existing requirements in a derived document. You can achieve this using drag-and-drop method.

This article describes the steps to create traceability links between records of source and derived OneView Documents using drag-and-drop method.

Option 1: Select one or more records in Document Map of a source document. Drag selected records from the source document and drop on a record in a derived document either in Document Map or Document Area. This will create traceability link from selected records in the source document to a single record in the derived document.

Option 2: Select one or more records in Document Map of a derived document. Drag selected records from the derived document and drop on a record in a source document either in Document Map or Document Area. This will create traceability link from a single record in the source document to multiple records in the derived document.

NOTE:

• The drag-and-drop method to create traceability links can be used between any two OneView Documents.
• However, when the two OneView Documents are in Trace Derivation Mode, the system creates traceability links as per the Derived Link Type specified in the source document.
• When the two OneView Documents are NOT in Trace Derivation Mode, the system creates traceability links based on the Traceability Schema. In that case, dragged records are considered as upstream and record on which they are dropped are considered as downstream.
