Overview
Promote record(s) to Library Project feature enables you to promote TopTeam record(s) from current Project into a Library Project so that they can be reused in another Projects.
Library Project: Any Public Project where record(s) are available for Reuse.
Current Project: A Project from where the selected record(s) are promoted to a Library Project.
NOTE:
- Current and Library Projects are considered as Destination and Source Projects respectively.
- Once a record is promoted to a Library Project, it becomes destination reuse record in the current Project. Whenever any changes are made in the promoted record in Library Project, they are synchronized into the current record.
This article describes various methods by which you can invoke the Promote to Library Project wizard and the steps for promoting records to a Library Project.

Prerequisites
You need different permissions in Library Project and current records’ project for promoting records.

NOTE: Similar actions can also be performed in any List editor.

NOTE: The Promote to Library Project option is NOT available in Requirements Document View.

2. Promoting selected record(s) into a Library Project
Step 2.1. Select the record(s), open Promote to Library Project wizard and click Next
Refer to the section above for opening Promote Records to Library Project wizard.
Step 2.2. Specify a Library (any Public) Project to promote the selected record(s) from the current Project
Step 2.3. Choose an option if you want to promote child record(s) of the selected record(s)
NOTE: This page will display only if the selected record(s) have child record(s).
Step 2.4. Choose an option to synchronize between the records being promoted to library and current Project
NOTE:
- Choose Automatic Update option if you want the destination (current Project) records to update automatically whenever their source records are updated in the Library Project.
- Choose Manual Update option if you want the destination records to be updated manually by you.
Step 2.5. View details in Action Log and click Finish

NOTE: If an error occurs while promoting a record from the selected records, it automatically shifts to the next record and starts promoting the remaining records.
Step 2.7. Promoted records display in the Library Project
Limitations:
- A record which is already a reused record (either Source or Destination) cannot be promoted i.e. only non-reused records can be promoted.
- A record from a OneView Document can be promoted only in OneView Document. Records at Project level (NOT in OneView Document) can be promoted at Project level.
- Requirements from Requirements Document can be promoted to either Requirements Documents or any OneView Document.
- If your database version is 11.4, you cannot promote parent records whose child records are destination records.
