Overview
When Versioning is enabled in the repository, the number of older versions of records grow over a while and occupy space, and also slow down the system. Purging older versions of records helps to control the database as well as improve the performance.
This article describes the procedure of purging older versions of records.

Step 1. Navigate to the Administration area
Step 2. Click Perform System Maintenance
Step 3. Click Purge “older versions” of records

2. Understanding “Keep” and “Baseline versions”
Whenever a record version is marked as Keep or included in a Baseline, such versions are never purged.
You can view which versions are marked as Keep or included in a Baseline from a record’s detail editor > go to History tab > go to Versions sub-tab.
If all versions are not visible, select All versions from the Show drop-down list located at the top-right corner of the Versions sub-tab.
3. Purging older versions of records
- Purge versions created before: Based on this condition, versions that are created before the specified days or date will be purged.
- Do not purge the last n versions: This condition specifies that the last “n” versions of the records will NOT be purged even if the above conditions satisfy.
