Overview
You can export and import Projects in TopTeam. While exporting a TopTeam Project, various artifacts such as Repository Objects, Tracking Items, Comments, Attachments and Trace Links are exported. These can then be imported back into any other TopTeam repository.
This article describes how to export and import Projects in TopTeam.
NOTE:
- Exported projects can be imported back into the repository, only if the TopTeam Database Schema version of both the repositories is the same.
- This feature should not be considered as a Repository Backup or Repository Synchronizer, as it only imports records and does not synchronize existing records.
What will NOT be imported?
Records of type such as:
- OneView Documents
- Review Packages
- Test Runs
Metadata:
- Record Types
- Record Type fields
- Form Layouts
- Record States
- Administration related data
Who should read this?
- TopTeam Administrators
- TopTeam Users
Prerequisites
- You must have System Administrator or Create Root Project permissions to import an exported project.

Step 1.1. Go to TopTeam main menu and select Export Projects to File
Step 1.2. Export Project Wizard opens

Step 2. Import a project into TopTeam

Step 2.7. Map custom Record Types present in exported file to TopTeam Record Types
NOTE: Names of Record Types present in the file which are same as Record Types in TopTeam including both system and custom Record Types, are automatically mapped by the system.
IMPORTANT: However, in case of custom Record Types with different names (not present in TopTeam), no mapping is assigned and you need to specify mapping for these Record Types on the above screen. In case you do not specify any mapping, then these Record Types will NOT be imported.
Step 2.8. Map custom fields present in exported file to TopTeam fields
NOTE: Names of fields present in the file which are same as fields in TopTeam, are automatically mapped by the system.
IMPORTANT: In case of custom fields with different names (not present in TopTeam), no mapping is assigned and you need to specify mapping for these fields on the above screen. In case you do not specify any mapping, then these fields will NOT be imported.
However, for successful mapping, fields must also be of the same field type such as a List of Values field must be mapped with another List of Values field ONLY.
Step 2.9. Select record(s )to be imported
Step 2.10. View Import Summary and click Import
Project is imported successfully.
